Alleged Conduct:
The officer engaged in a course of conduct with regards to a female member of the public
that was inappropriate.
Particulars
This behaviour was while in police uniform and during the interaction the officer obtained the member of the public’s social media information. PC Farmer is stated to have said words to the effect of “I shouldn’t be doing this in uniform but I couldn’t resist”.
The member of public is stated to have felt pressured to provide the information due to PC Farmer being an officer in uniform.
Standards of Professional Behaviour breached:
(a) Authority, Respect and Courtesy
(b) Discreditable Conduct
The matters set out above, individually, and/or cumulatively, are alleged to amount to gross misconduct in that they are so serious as to justify dismissal.
