Accelerated Misconduct Hearing Outcome
Former Officer concerned: Ellie McNamara

Summary
It was alleged that the former officer:
1. On the 2nd of June 2025 the Former Officer signed a witness statement which she submitted to the Professional Standards Department as part of a criminal investigation stating she was not in a relationship, when she knew this to be untrue.
2. Between the 10th April and 8th December 2025 the Former Officer initiated and received regular contact through this relationship which she failed to challenge or report knowing this was a breach of the said person’s bail conditions.
3. The Former Officer failed to submit a notifiable association where a known association exists when she knew or ought to have known that she should have submitted a notifiable association.
4. On the 6th August 2025 the Former Officer completed an Annual Integrity Health Check in which she failed to disclose their relationship, when she knew or ought to have known that such a relationship should be disclosed.
The Standards of Professional Behaviour breached are:
• Authority, Respect and Courtesy
• Discreditable conduct
Decision
The Chair found gross misconduct and decided that Former Officer Ellie McNamara would have been dismissed if she had not already ceased to be a member of West Mercia Police.
As a consequence of this finding, Former Officer McNamara will be included on the barred list held by College of Policing.
