Investigation into ill-treatment by a care worker leads to prison sentence

Following a West Mercia Police investigation, Michelle Baxter, aged 44, has today (Thursday 12 March) been sentenced to two years and two months in prison after pleading guilty to ill-treatment of an individual by a care worker and Misconduct in a Public Office on Friday 20 December. 

Michelle Baxter, of Clydach Vale, Tonypandy, Mid Glamorgan appeared at Worcester Crown Court in relation to incidents that took place between 2016 and 2017. 

Detective Chief Inspector Jon Roberts said: “We take all complaints of ill-treatment and misconduct by care staff extremely seriously. The investigation was complex and I hope that the victim and all those involved can take some comfort from today’s sentencing.

“I would like to commend the victim for providing statements and helping us with our investigation. We will always do everything we can to bring offenders to justice and to support victims involved in crimes such as this.”
