Appeal for witnesses following fatal collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorist sadly died in a collision in Shrewsbury.

The collision happened around 4.30pm yesterday (Sunday 20 September) on the A49 between Preston and Sundorne and involved a grey Nissan Leaf and a black Peugeot 5008.

The driver of the Nissan Leaf car was travelling from Preston to Sundorne and the Peugeot was travelling in the opposite direction when they were in collision. Sadly, the driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three of the four occupants inside the Peugeot were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police Sergeant Marc Whild, said: “While investigations are on-going to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident, we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage to come forward. Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who has sadly died in this tragic incident.”
