West Mercia Police Officers are in attendance at a site on Fordshill Road, Rotherwas in Hereford dealing with a potential suspect explosive.
Bomb disposal experts from Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) have been informed.
A 200m cordon has been established around the area and business premises evacuated to ensure public safety.
Fordshill Road and Chapel Road, Rotherwas, in Hereford are currently closed.
Update (1):A cordon remains in place, with business and residential properties evacuated with on-going road closures including Fordshill Road and Chapel Road.
A controlled explosion is due to take place by bomb disposal experts from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) this morning (Friday 4 September 2020). We are asking the public to stay out of the area and use alternative travel routes.
Update (2): The EOD have completed the controlled explosion. A cordon will remain in place until all assessments are completed.
