Extra officers are in the area to carry out enquiries and offer reassurance.
South Worcestershire local policing commander, Superintendent Gareth Morgan, said: “We understand this incident will cause the local community concern and I would like to offer my reassurance a man was quickly arrested nearby and we do not believe there is any wider risk to the public.
“Officers will remain in the area this evening, and I would encourage anyone who is concerned to speak to an officer on patrol.”
