Appeal to reunite stolen farm kit with owners as cost of rural crime falls

Rural crime officers in Herefordshire are looking to reunite a farm vehicle and agricultural mower with their rightful owners after recovering them this week.

They are hoping to reunite the stolen Honda quad bike and ATV mower with their registered keepers now they have been retrieved.

Their recovery comes in the week that the NFU Mutual’s annual rural crime report revealed the cost of rural crime in Herefordshire cost over £1.1million, which is down by 30 per cent compared to the previous year’s £1.6million figure.

Rural and Business Crime Officer (RABO) for Herefordshire, John Meek, said: "We are pleased to have recovered the stolen quad bike and mower this week.

“We would like to reunite them with their rightful owners so if you believe the items are yours please email me at [email protected] .

John added: “We also welcome the report from our partners at NFU that the cost of rural crime has decreased by 30 per cent in the past year.

“We are not complacent about this improvement which is positive news, and will continue to work with them and our rural communities to tackle crime in their areas.”
