Officers and staff from the force’s firearms and explosive licensing team attended the British Shooting Show at the NEC in Birmingham over the weekend.
The team were on hand to offer advice and guidance, with over 300 visitors to their stand over the weekend. They were also able to carry out variations and updates to licenses.
Inspector Kerri Monaghan, who leads the firearms licensing unit, said: “This was a great event and we’re really pleased that we managed to see and speak to so many of our license holders over the weekend.
“As well as license holders, we were also able to spend time with the organisers and traders.
“Building relationships and offering support and advice to those in the shooting community is a really important part of what we do. It helps us with our ultimate aim of ensuring the safety of our communities by making sure all firearms are owned and used responsibly and legally.”
