Neighbourhood Matters reach another big milestone with 40,000 registered members

Neighbourhood Matters first launched across our three counties in July 2021. The benefits have been reaped over the last two and a half years as residents and local police stay directly connected. 

With hundreds of people registering each week there are now over a staggering 40,000 residents who are signed up to the messaging platform.  

We are committed to engaging with our communities across Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire to help increase trust and confidence, and protect people from harm. 

By signing up to Neighbourhood Matters you can choose exactly what type of alerts you want to receive and who you wish to hear from. You’ll receive information on exactly what’s happening in your area and what is being done about it. You’ll also hear about positive police action, good news stories and be able to play an active part in helping us with our public appeals. 

The messaging service allows you to have your say and speak directly to your local Safer Neighbourhood Team, as you can reply to the messages received. 

Superintendent Edward Hancox said: “Information and intelligence we receive from our local communities is absolutely crucial to us in both preventing and reducing crime. This has been proven through Neighbourhood Matters over the last two and a half years.  

“We value the effective partnership between members of the public and the police, this relationship builds a stronger community. 

“I would really encourage anyone living in our three counties to sign-up to Neighbourhood Matters. You will not just receive updates around the local issues in your area, but you will be able to raise concerns directly with your local team.”
