Neighbourhood Watch offer safeguarding advice to young people

Protecting children and young people from exploitation was the focus of a recent event in Hereford as professionals, practitioners and volunteers came together to discuss safeguarding concerns.

The GET SAFE Contextual Safeguarding Conference was held in Hereford Tuesday earlier this week (30 January), to identify how together partners can strengthen Herefordshire’s response to child exploitation and other safeguarding concerns.

Our friends from Neighbourhood Watch also attended the event and shared resources they provide for topics being discussed and the services they offer to young people.

To tackle young people’s concerns around crime and safety, Neighbourhood Watch launched a ‘Youth Council’ to enable students and young demographics to support one another and stay connected. The initiative allows for tackling safety and health and wellbeing on and off campus.

Neighbourhood Watch also offer ‘The Lookout’, the magazine written by students for students. Featuring stories of students across the country to bring their campus and local community together, advice on safety and wellbeing and how to get involved with local volunteering opportunities.
