Held at Worcester Crown Court, 23-year-old Zac Jones of Muir Close in Hereford was sentenced to three years and four months in prison for being concerned in the supply of class A- cocaine. He was also given one month for criminal damage which will run concurrently and ordered to pay £265 in court costs.

22-year-old Ryan Jones of Birch Close in Hereford was also sentenced three years and four months for being concerned in the supply of class A- cocaine. His sentence will run concurrently with two months for assault occasioning in actual bodily harm. Jones was also ordered to pay £165 in court costs.

A third person, 26-year-old Tegan Green, from Herrick Vale in Ledbury, Herefordshire was given an eight-month and two-weeks sentence, suspended for 12 months for assisting an offender. She was also given a 7pm to 7am curfew for three months and a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

Detective Sergeant Jim Moore, of Hereford Proactive CID, said: “This was a lengthy and complex investigation into the supply of class A drugs in Herefordshire.

“Both Ryan Jones and Zac Jones were both responsible for running the operation taking an active role not only in the supply of drugs,  but the use of threats and acts of violence.

“The misery associated with this offending is well known as is the impact on the local community, neither Ryan Jones nor Zac Jones showed any regard for their actions, fleeing the city once they became aware of police involvement.

“Green assisted both knowing them to be guilty of significant offending and booked accommodation for them in various cities before they were arrested in Plymouth.

“This sentence is welcomed as it reflects the seriousness of this type of offending. Officers from West Mercia Police will not tolerate the supply of controlled drugs and will work with the local community and partner agencies to combat it at every opportunity. It also demonstrates that those who assist offenders will be firmly dealt with, and their actions will not be tolerated."
