Plenty for all ages at Herefordshire Open Day

Leominster Police Station will open to the public this Sunday (6 April) giving the public the chance to look behind the scenes of Herefordshire’s Local Policing Area.

Members of the public are invited to come along to meet their local policing teams, as well as explore the station’s custody suite, and much more.

They will get the chance to meet our police dogs and roads policing team and check out their vehicles, a chance to speak to their local officers and even find out how you could join West Mercia Police. The event runs from 11am until 3pm and is open to all ages.

Other attractions to explore on the day include Peeler the dog – West Mercia Police’s mascot, classic police cars, a Territorial Army stand and military vehicle, the Longtown Search and Rescue team stand including a vehicle as well as family activities.

Inspector James Ashton said: “Come along to Leominster Police Station this Sunday which is a fantastic opportunity to come along and meet some of your Herefordshire officers and take a unique look at what a working police station looks like, as well as being able to sit in a police car and visit custody.

“There will also be lots of entertainment in place for families, including a guest appearance by our force's mascot PC Peeler.

“The event is completely free, and I would encourage anyone interested in policing, or anyone who wants to experience firsthand what our job looks like, to come along on the day.”

Entry is free to the event and all exhibits will be there subject to operational needs.
