A cannabis grow was discovered in Redditch in the early hours of this morning (Thursday) following a 999-call reporting a disturbance at a residential address.
Police responded to a report of an ongoing burglary at the property on Oakenshaw Road in Greenlands at around 3.30am.
Upon attending the address, a strong smell of cannabis was evident and inside the house around 40 plants – 15 to 20 mature and 20 immature – were found, mainly in the loft area, as well as a large amount of cash and drug paraphernalia.
Officers arrested two people at the scene on suspicion of being concerned in the production of a class B controlled drug – cannabis.
A man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s are currently in police custody helping with enquiries.

Inspector Liam Bennett said: “We were called to a report of a break-in at an address in Greenlands this morning which led to the discovery of a cannabis grow at the property.
“Two people were arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation and are in custody helping us with our enquiries.”
An investigation has also been launched into the burglary at the address and CID are appealing for witnesses or anyone with doorbell camera or CCTV footage to report it to us by calling 101 and quoting log 38i of today – Thursday 27 November.
