Hereford cocaine dealer is sentenced at court

A Hereford class A drug dealer has been sentenced at court today (Tuesday 16 September) to six years and nine months.

Nathen Bevan, of Catherine Court, Hereford, pled guilty at Worcester Crown Court to one count each of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, possession of criminal property and resisting arrest.

The 31-year-old was arrested outside his home address on Tuesday 13 May, resisting officers in the execution of their duty who were acting on intelligence around drug dealing in the area.

A search of the property uncovered over a kilogram of cocaine, a large amount of cash and associated paraphernalia.

Bevan pled guilty to all offences and was today sentenced to a total sentence of six years and nine months.

Lead investigator DC Kyle Hopkins, of Hereford CID, said: “We welcome this sentence as it demonstrates the sheer scale of this drug supply operation, and the seriousness of these offences.

“West Mercia Police seized a significant quantity of controlled drugs during this investigation, and we are pleased to have removed this from the streets of Hereford. Bevan also resisted arrest and made efforts to obstruct officers.

“The misery and suffering brought about by drugs into our communities is well documented and West Mercia Police will pursue those who commit it and will always seek to prosecute those who cause harm to the people we are here to protect.
