Alexis was found dead in an abandoned building near the Shelton water tower on 27 June 2025.
Detectives quickly discovered that Rowson was the last person to see Alexis alive and used the victim’s bank card to buy alcohol and scratchcards.
Detective Inspector Joanne Delahay, who led the investigation, said: “Alexis died as a result of a vicious and prolonged assault at the hands of Rowson.
“I’m pleased that he has been found guilty today and will now face a substantial amount of time in prison.
“Our thoughts remain with Alexis’s family and friends, who have been incredibly strong throughout this ordeal.”
Rowson has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced on Wednesday 6 May at Stafford Crown Court.
*13/04/26 9.55am- Alexis's age has been amended. It was previously stated as 46, however 45 is correct.
