Two Hereford drug dealers sentenced at court

Two drug dealers who were peddling narcotics into and around Hereford have been sentenced to a combined total of more than five years in prison.

Hany Azzam, 42, of Dartmouth Court, Hereford and Craig Gordon-Williams, 42, of Ecroyd Park, Credenhill, Hereford were dealt with at Hereford Crown Court yesterday (Monday 13 April).

Azzam was convicted of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs for which he was sentenced to 40 months in prison, possession with intent to supply a class B drug – cannabis – 32 months to run concurrently and possession of criminal property – eight months concurrently. A total of 40 months in prison.

Gordon-Williams was convicted of possession with intent to supply a class B drug – cannabis for which he was sentenced to 32 months and possession of criminal property – eight months to run concurrently.

Gordon-Williams was further found guilty of failing to provide the PIN number to his mobile phone, contrary to Part III, Section 49 of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA) and was handed an additional two months’ imprisonment, taking his total term to 34 months.

On 20 February 2025 officers from Hereford Proactive CID detained and arrested Azzam and Gordon-Williams on Whittern Way in Hereford while they had been stood at a van, belonging to Gordon-Williams.

Officers searched the van and found an Aladdin’s cave of phones, a baseball bat, around £8,000 in cash, and over two kilograms of cannabis in vacuum bags.

A further search of Azzam’s home address recovered further cannabis in 22 smaller bags and £10,720 in cash. At Gordon-Williams’ home detectives found £22,000 in a safe and another three kilograms of cannabis.

Both refused to give their phone pins, but Azzam’s was accessed by police and Gordon-Williams’ was convicted for not handing his over. Phone searches on Azzam’s device revealed extensive drug supply material.

The total amount of seized cannabis was approximately 5.5kg, with an estimated street value of £54,000. The total cash seizure was £41,995, bringing the total criminal seizures to £95,595.

DC Kyle Hopkins of Hereford Proactive CID said: “The arrest of Azzam and Gordon-Williams led officers to uncover a large drug supply enterprise operating in Hereford.

“They were caught red-handed with large amount of drugs can cash. The subsequent searches of their home addresses uncovered even more illegal drugs, and I welcome the sentenced provided by the Judge yesterday.

“We will not desist in our pursuit of those who seek to supply drugs on the streets of West Mercia Police force area and the criminality linked to it.”
