Nowadays, there's more to policing than fighting crime on the streets, therefore we're working to deliver new and innovative technology to enable the future of policing.
It's a dynamic area that's creating exciting opportunities for Information Technology (IT) professionals who want to work at the forefront of technological innovation and transform policing for the benefit of the communities we serve.
Right now, our ambition is for Digital Services to act as an enabler of change and innovation, delivering both savings and more efficient and effective services that are better for everyone. By implementing a holistic approach to deliver the right information to the right people at the right time, and in the right place, police officers and staff can make well-informed decisions and deliver an excellent, and value-for-money service to the public.
We've completed our brand new Control Room and are investing in new leading edge technology. We're also putting information right into the hands of our frontline officers with mobile technology that enables them to work more efficiently and effectively, and we're building on the success of Auto Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology and Body Worn Video devices to make policing both faster and safer.
Initiatives such as Athena, a collaboration between nine forces, is also transforming productivity, allowing integrated management of intelligence, investigations, case preparation and custody management.
As well as investing in exciting new technology and infrastructure, we're also investing in people. This means we have some great opportunities for IT professionals to take the next step in their careers with us. Careers that, for passionate, collaborative and innovative people like you, will not only allow you to test and expand your talents, but to also make a direct contribution to making society better.
