Would you like to be the first point of contact for people in need?
The role of a Switchboard Operator is to provide a first point of contact to people calling us and providing a first line resolution, or signposting members of the public to the correct agency.
The main purpose of the role is to provide a high-quality telephone call handling service to the public and the force. To transfer calls to the most appropriate service within West Mercia Police, and to signpost members of the public to different agencies if not the police service.
Working as a Switchboard Operator is a rewarding role where you will be able to finish a shift, knowing that you are making a positive difference to the lives of people in our communities.
You will be given appropriate support and training when you first start with us.
There are also opportunities to advance your career within the OCC for those who wish to develop further.
We are looking for candidates who can gather information quickly, and work under pressure.
We ask for 5 A – C grade GCSEs (including English Language and Maths), or equivalent.
Customer service experience is preferred, but is not essential for the role.
We are not currently open for applications for the Switchboard Operator role.
