Your Safer Neighbourhood Team
Your Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) is a group of local police officers and staff dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of police officers, special constables, police community support officers and volunteers, supported by additional officers and staff from the wider area.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for your area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on preventing and reducing crime, protecting the vulnerable and providing reassurance across Herefordshire, Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and Worcestershire.

Issue: Speed / Road Safety.
You said: This is a priority for the next 3 months, based on resident feedback, and ongoing local concerns.Action taken:
We will: Conduct regular speed enforcement and engagement activity in our main hotspot locations in Ledbury and surrounding villages such as Colwall.
We will: Ensure officers are visible in areas of heightened concern.
We will: Look to use our Community Speed Watch Volunteers to support with increasing visibility.
We did: Ledbury Speed Watch have been utilised to monitor traffic on high reported areas of speeding in the Ledbury area.
High visibility patrols/ parking up in areas of concern to deter motorists to speed.
Speed monitoring/ speed enforcement in the areas of concerns.
Speed Van has been utilised in different areas around the patch. -

Issue: Poaching (Op Snare) / Rural Crime Activity:
You said: This is a priority for the next 3 months, based on resident feedback, and ongoing local concerns.Action taken:
We will: Conduct regular activity at known hotspot locations.
We will: Target individuals committing offences using a range of tactics.
We will: Seize vehicles and equipment used to commit poaching or wildlife crime offences.
We will: Op Snare & organised crime activity. Prosecute offenders committing offences related to Rural Crime.
We did: Op Snare results- officers responded to a report of lamping, searched the area and a vehicle of interest was located. A search of the vehicle and it's occupants resulted in a high powered spotlight and batteries being seized. The driver also failed the roadside drugs wipe and was subsequently arrested. The investigation is ongoing into the occupants.
High visibility patrols are conducted in our rural locations.
