House burglary - based on resident feedback, crime data and ongoing local concerns

Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) are continuing to support Operation Whitebeam, West Mercia Police's ongoing campaign to prevent and reduce dwelling burglaries across our communities.

As part of the operation, neighbourhood officers work proactively to identify burglary hotspots, conduct high-visibility patrols and engage with residents to help reduce opportunities for offenders.

When a burglary occurs, SNT officers will often visit victims to offer reassurance and practical crime prevention advice. These visits provide an opportunity to discuss security measures, identify any vulnerabilities and help residents feel safer in their homes following what can be a distressing experience.
Officers also work closely with partner agencies and local communities to raise awareness of burglary prevention, encouraging residents to take simple steps to protect their homes, such as ensuring doors and windows are secure, using appropriate lighting and reporting suspicious activity.
By supporting Operation Whitebeam, Safer Neighbourhood Teams aim not only to catch offenders but also to prevent burglaries from happening in the first place through education, engagement and visible policing.

Drug dealing - based on resident feedback, crime data and ongoing local concerns

We will:
- Deal robustly with people committing offences, making use of available legislation to divert offenders and prevent harm.
- Ensure officers are visible in areas of heightened concern.
- Conduct further neighbourhood surveys to identify areas of concern.
- Provide crime prevention advice to local neighbourhoods being targeted by offenders

We Did:
Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) have been supporting Operation Conyay as part of ongoing work to tackle drug dealing, disrupt criminal activity and keep our communities safe.
Operation Conyay brings together neighbourhood policing teams and partner agencies to target those involved in the supply of illegal drugs and address the harm that drug-related activity causes within our towns and villages.
As part of the operation, SNT officers carry out high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot areas, act on information provided by the public and work proactively to identify individuals involved in criminality. Officers also engage with local residents, businesses and community groups to better understand concerns and gather intelligence that helps direct policing activity.
Drug dealing can have a significant impact on communities, often leading to anti-social behaviour, exploitation of vulnerable people and wider criminal activity. By taking part in Operation Conyay, neighbourhood officers are able to focus resources on disrupting offenders while reassuring local residents that concerns are being taken seriously.
The operation supports the wider commitment of West Mercia Police to prevent crime, protect vulnerable people and work with communities to address local priorities.

Anti-social behaviour - based on resident feedback, crime data and ongoing local concerns

We will:
- Deal robustly with people committing anti-social behaviour, making use of available legislation to divert offenders and prevent harm.
- Ensure officers are visible in areas of heightened concern.
- Conduct further neighbourhood priority surveys to identify areas of focus.

We Did:
Conduct regular patrols in ASB hotspot areas including Ludlow town centre, Fishmore Road, Wheeler Road, Sandpits Road & Milton Road.
Patrols conducted in the outer villages where ASB has been reported including Clee Hill, Wyson, Ashford Bowdler and Richards Castle.

Road safety issues - based on resident feedback, crime data and ongoing local concerns

We will:
- review available speed and collision data for this area
- focus police visibility on high risk locations
- consider speed surveys and enforcement

We Did:
speed enforcement in areas raised to us as areas of concerns including Caynham, Knowbury, Richards Castle & Clee Hill. As well as other locations in Ludlow including; Parys Road, Weeping Cross Lane, Sheet Road, The Sheet & Henley Road
