ASB Newport - Town’s park that include Shukers Field, Millwood Mere and Norbroom Park. This includes general ASB from young persons including the use of E-scooters and off road bikes.
Issued 01 October 2026
Over recent months, there has been a significant reduction in both reports and observations of ASB linked to young people and the night-time economy. Local play parks and the town centre had previously experienced an increase in incidents; however, reported levels of ASB have now reduced considerably. This improvement is likely attributable to a combination of increased police visibility, effective use of CCTV, early intervention with those involved in nuisance behaviour, and the use of positive enforcement where appropriate.
The SNT has also worked closely with partner agencies, including Telford & Wrekin Council, Licensing, and Trading Standards, to address ASB concerns linked to a local retail premises. Through joint problem-solving, information sharing, and coordinated enforcement activity, measures have been implemented to tackle the root causes of the issues and reduce their impact on the local community.
The SNT will continue to monitor identified hotspot locations, maintain high-visibility patrols, and work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure that emerging issues are identified and addressed at the earliest opportunity. This ongoing approach aims to sustain the reduction in ASB, improve public confidence, and enhance community safety across the area.
